I had an indoor wildlife adventure some years ago. I was out in the test lab at the back of the building, which had a large garage door opening to the back parking lot. Several people were hanging around, either testing various hardware and software, or just chatting as they prepared to knock off for the day.

Just as I launched another test that should run for hours, a huge cricket scampered out from under a rack of computer equipment. This thing could almost be mistaken for a mouse, huge and black as it was. It ran as fast as it could straight toward the garage door.

Everyone in the lab saw it, and stared in stunned silence for a second. Then someone made the inevitable crack, "Wow! Did that come out of {fill in the name of your favorite bug-prone software here}?"

"Yeah," I replied, "The big ones kicked him out."

(She wasn't talking about my software, thank you very much!)
